Flu Update
Grandville Public Schools continues to monitor the number of students who are absent due to influenza like illness. Our district will consult with the Kent County Health Department for guidance on closing if needed. Please continue to keep children home who are ill until they are fever free for 24 hours.
For most, this influenza-like-illness presents with typical influenza symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea. However, medical care should be sought if
warning signs
occur.
The Kent County Health Department is responsible for distribution of vaccine for H1N1. The hotline, 742-4FLU, will be updated with vaccine availability information. You should check with your health care provider if you have questions about getting H1N1 vaccine.
Reliable information on communicable diseases, including H1N1 flu, is available from the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Learn
